Pikler Triangle

IMG_0799.jpeg

A friend asked if I could build a Pikler triangle for their kids, so I took it as an opportunity to experiment with some techniques. The triangle rails and rungs were Douglas fir, and the ramp was birch plywood. I opted for a static (non-foldable) version for stability, but I realized later on that the wood type, width, and thickness of the dowels are more important in providing that stability. The acrylic paint for the rungs and climbing holds was thin enough to still let some of the wood grain show through, and it was vibrant enough to still be fun.
